Description:

This in-depth video service aid depicts relubrication of the kicker and sled on the traverse assembly, cleaning of the disc spindle components, and cleaning of fixed and objective lenses in the optical pickup. This can help to address the majority of disc read errors, including the "buzzing noise" problem, which is a lubrication issue with the kicker mechanism and the traverse sled shafts. This is part two of a two-part video to accommodate the ten minute limit on YouTube.

Authorized Sony drives are available for sale mainly in the used market and have been manufactured by Maxtor or Seagate and were packaged with an authorized Linux kit or with PS-2 boxsets of Final Fantasy XI. There are, however, conventional IDE hard drives which will work with the PS-2, but you can't use it with the Linux kit or FFXI. The information is available on Google, but some drives, such as the Hitachi Deskstar series up to 200 GB, will work.

You shouldn't have to unless it's in the way.

There's no clips on the side or anywhere on the lens. I think i should just use my friend's ps2 lens instead. Is there any stores or websites that sell ps2 lens?

Look for what appears to be clips on the side of the housing and carefully undo those.
