Description:

"Don't Box Me In - Theme From Rumblefish" - 1983 song collaboration between Stewart Copeland of the Police and singer Stan Ridgway, leader of the band Wall Of Voodoo. This was the video. In it you can see Mickey Rourke, Matt Dillon, Tom Waits, Nicolas Cage, and Dennis Hopper. A great song for a great film.

Those fishes represent Rusty James himself. He's self-destructive, always at war with himself inside. He was well on his way becoming a failure, like his idolised brother and their father, but he didn't realise until it was too late. The film has an optimistic ending, but the novel hasn't. FWIW, anyway. :)

That can't happen. Read the novel to find out why. :P Coppola's version is a lot nicer and more optimistic than Hinton's novel version. For Rusty James, anyway.
