Description:

Here it is! This is part two of our series about our trip to Morocco. In this video we spend time in the home of a Berber rug weaver getting an education about the materials and story patterns of Berber rugs. These rugs took months to make and were absolutely gorgeous! Then we had lunch and watched the rock climbers in the beautiful city of Tinerhir (the food in Morocco was very tasty!). After that we headed straight for the Sahara desert. Our small group rode camels into the desert and we camped with our guides amongst the sand dunes. Unfortunately it was too dark to capture that night on video... We sat on Berber rugs, drinking mint tea, telling stories & jokes, singing songs and listening to our guides play drums. Part three will be coming in the form of an article in a couple days from now. It was originally a video but was quite lengthy... The video was really just us talking about our experience; so, we decided to transcribe the conversation instead. In part three we'll talk about things we learned while traveling in Morocco, and discuss experiences that helped us in our travels. Remember, we are not giving advice; we're only recounting our experience, which was very positive. We loved the culture, the people, and especially the food! So much so that Steph asked her Moroccan friend from Rabat on the trip to write down a bunch of authentic Moroccan recipes for her! If you'd like them, just send an email... Overall itinerary of our trip from Marrakesh: Marrakesh through the Atlas Mountains, to Ouarzazate, through Dades Valley (Oasis Dades, and Valley of the 1000 Kasbas), to Tinerhir (Todra Gorges), to Merzouga (Beginning of the Sahara sand dunes, and the end of the road!).

No, didn't buy a carpet. I wish I would have now. They were selling for around $200, but are worth about five times that much back here. Thanks Inoujoum for the compliment. More to come!

Hi...I'm trying to see your vids. It takes a long time to load and you use a lot of the space here with your into footage which makes it tedious. I saw your intro on part one. well...im killing time till it loads. I went to Morocco two times..once to Fez which is great and the 2nd time to marrakech where I saw the folk festival there. Of course i met great people and was culture shocked both times.
