shanebarrow1 ::: Favorites i agree man. there were only two great centers in the nba when wilt played. In my opinion hakeem is the most talented center to ever play the game. THERE wasnt anything that he couldnt do on the floor. Dominant on both ends. BUt the wilt vs shaq debate is ridiculous to me. ALl you have to do is ask what would happened if they could of somehow swithched places? WIlt in todays game and SHAQ in the 60's? Im sorry but shaq playing in the 60's would of been absolutely ILLEGAL! 07-08-12 19:15:47 _____________________________________________________
shanebarrow1 ::: Favorites Wilt's quickness? He wasnt a face to the basket type player so its not like he would be driving past oneal. He had no handle at all, he was a back to the basket player. There was absolutley nothing wilt chaimberlain could do to stop shaq in his prime other than foul. Hes giving up 75lbs and strentgh wise its simply too much. WHat if shaq played in the 60"s? Can you tell me he wouldnt of scored 150 points? 07-08-12 19:21:00 _____________________________________________________
shanebarrow1 ::: Favorites Im sorry but walt bellamy, wes unseld, dave cowens, and willis reed dont compare, to Patrick ewing, Hakeem olajuwan, David robinson. Kareem is of course a legend and the sky hook is unstoppable but those other guys you named are no better than ALonzo mourning. Come on man hakeem olajuwom vs dave cowens? are you serious? 07-08-12 19:23:09 _____________________________________________________
FuShengAlex ::: Favorites Markd....but did Wilt "dominate" these centres in the postseason the way Hakeem did from 93-95? Willis Reed played Gm. 7 with a torn thigh muscle and Wilt was unable to exploit him, even though he was 6'9", in fact Reed outplayed him in his last NBA finals as well in '73. Thurmond was also 6'9-10" and would give away 3-4 inches vs. Hakeem. Cowens was only 6'8" tall as a centre. Unseld while great was only 6'7". 07-08-12 23:10:26 _____________________________________________________
FuShengAlex ::: Favorites Shane if you look at 2:11 & 4:11, you'll see Wilt face the basket and shoot off the glass. I've even seen footage of him using the skyhook. Not to mention he runs the floor well. There's a lot more to Wilt than just staying in the key and dunking imo. 07-08-12 23:17:38 _____________________________________________________
FuShengAlex ::: Favorites Shane....Hakeem also gave away 60 + lbs when facing Shaq in the Finals and did well. Furthermore, Wilt in his Laker days was also above 300 lbs. 07-08-12 23:18:55 _____________________________________________________
FuShengAlex ::: Favorites If Shaq played in the 60's, of course he would've dominated, perhaps more than he did in his prime. But you have to take into effect there were a lot of rule changes that were introduced to halt the dominance of great centres. Shaq would be going to the line even moreso than he did today. Wilt actually considered quitting basketball from the physical abuse he received. 07-08-12 23:26:56 _____________________________________________________
MAF0X ::: Favorites wtf is with the music..... 07-08-14 03:51:14 _____________________________________________________
bustedblockbuster ::: Favorites Wilt Chamberlain is second only to Michael Jordan, but I like him better than MJ. He excelled in everything: points, rebounds, assists, blocks (if the NBA started charting blocks earlier, he and Russell would've passed Hakeem). Simply unstoppable. 07-08-14 05:55:33 _____________________________________________________
tomdavies768 ::: Favorites no shit, this music sucks ballz son 07-08-15 04:28:13 _____________________________________________________ |
