Description:

Hello! I'm Kristin Volk with a UPI Headline Update on this Thursday, July 12, 2007. Al-Qaeda is reportedly the strongest it's been since the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. That's according to a U.S. government analysis that says the group has found a safe haven in tribal areas of Pakistan. The news comes as government officials are warning that the U.S. is vulnerable to Al Qaeda despite security changes since September 11. Officials say they see more money, training and communications among the terror group members. Military action at Islamabad's Red Mosque has ended. Pakistan forces took over the mosque yesterday from radical Islamic students. But there are concerns now whether this would set off reprisals by Islamic militants. Al-Qaeda's second in command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, appeared in a recorded message on web sites requesting the students take revenge against Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's government. The military says at least 50 militants and nine security guards died in the mosque battle. A new report out says the Bush Administration sees some satisfactory progress in Iraq. The White House report released today says there's improvement in eight of the eighteen benchmarks set by Congress. The analysis reportedly says that none of the military and political benchmarks have been fully met, and only in some cases there's been movement forward. This report is considered a midterm evaluation. The annual summary is due in September. Family, friends and admires will have a chance this weekend to bid farewell to Lady Bird Johnson, widow of the late President Lyndon Johnson. The former first lady died yesterday of natural causes. She was 94. A private family service will be held tomorrow morning in Austin. Following that, Johnson's body will lie in repose for public viewing Friday afternoon to Saturday morning. A private funeral will take place later in the day on Saturday. Johnson will be buried in the family cemetery near Stonewall, Texas next to her husband who died in 1973.

This isn't college football I don't like their ways either but the US made some dreadfully aweful permanant decisions that cheats the values of what constitional laws are founded on.

Why is it our business to eliminate Al Quada now? Watch the special 911 the man who knew. It's a free pbs special you can find on the internet. The US had a task force that could have taken out Al Quida but because of US government corruption did not. The US is very corrupt and will always be that way with the current infrastructure.

No it's not god it's lame policy such as fractional reserve banking system and other bogus policies such as our borders "so called right to work".. These systems have been in force since 1913 and will continue until disolved. Meanwhile governent plays poor while it has ties (ie Bush & kronies other orgs like world bank) with foriegn federal banks/money institutions they control and they continue to devalue seperating the classes.

Why all this religious dogma. Why not just let races be races of people and not races of god? But no people have to hide behind a cross or so called faith. The time of god is not comming get real. If you did any reasearch you would see it's the multnational coroporations doing this and the policies of money institions they influence to gain more grip.

I am all for eliminating these rats from the face of this earth. They are not enemies of non-muslims but even bigger enemies of muslims. They want muslims to go back 300 years in terms of education and human development. I support all govts and leaders including Musharraf who are risking their lives to fight this evil menace
