PETENIPPLE ::: Favorites dear god that man is amazingly fast and disciplined.... 07-09-18 18:52:05 __________________________________________________
twistyMcfistyburger ::: Favorites Yea def, I agree that he is a great tight player but I couldn't pick him out from many others. No definitive sound, People like Gene Hoglan and Sean reinhart have a style easy to pick out. 07-08-30 21:51:26 __________________________________________________
WeissesFleisch310 ::: Favorites That snare sounds amazing Kinda makes you melt inside it sounds so badass.. 07-08-29 15:06:37 __________________________________________________
uoisthebest ::: Favorites good job i wish i could have a drumer like u 4 a band im tryin 2 start 07-08-11 13:22:06 __________________________________________________
pearldude729 ::: Favorites haha heres a good way to do what you're saying....well not really. if you're using kick triggers, set the sensitivity way low and play straight 16ths on the kicks. some of it the triggers will pick up and some wont be triggered. only...its hard to control, and it is completely pointless....haha im just being retarded, ive done it before though 07-08-04 19:05:54 __________________________________________________
dubbeltramp ::: Favorites ok. I see what u meen. 07-07-20 08:10:28 __________________________________________________
StrappingYoungStu ::: Favorites No I understand that, all I am saying is that there are 1001 drummers in the world that can play exactly the same things at exactly the same speed as derek, what derek is missing in his playing is something that makes him original as a drummer, whether thats a particular kit setup/sound, or whether its particular chops it doesnt matter, what matters is that right now, if I were to listen to him and a bunch of other metal drummers I couldnt tell which one was derek Stu 07-07-19 22:28:24 __________________________________________________
dubbeltramp ::: Favorites It seems to me that u dont realy get the idea of this video. Derek diden´t do this video because he thinks he is the best! He did it so that he could share his stuff with others. BTW i would love to se u play Dereks stuff :D! 07-07-19 21:42:56 __________________________________________________
StrappingYoungStu ::: Favorites Hes fast but he didnt leave any space for the other musicians to play in :P In all seriousness, he can do nice lots of fast accurate 16ths but can he split them up and play syncopated double bass?? Theres a challenge for you derek come up with some seriously cool syncopated double bass at those sorts of speeds, THAT is difficult and will truly set you apart from most of the other drummers out there, because right now with your style you could be anybody! Biggen69 ::: Favorites Thank's alot for these lessons! You are the man! 07-07-13 13:38:40 __________________________________________________ |
