tobiasaurusrex ::: Favorites Not a tsunami, this is Laird Hamilton surfing Waimeia Bay, which breaks like this one or two times a year. Teahapu, "Mavericks" in Half Moon Bay, Cali, and some other spots around the world, including the Atlantic (near Portugal is one) have breaks like this under the correct conditions. These are filmed from helicoptor, matching wave sound added later. 07-09-09 23:59:22 __________________________________________________
BipolarProject ::: Favorites I want to say, wow. I wish I had something to eat, cause watching all these awesome video's on YouTube, makes me hungry. Maybe I should go to WENDY'S. Open late. 07-09-09 22:22:10 __________________________________________________
paradoxb3 ::: Favorites has anyone stopped arguing about the definition of the word "tsunami" long enough to wonder how they got that camera angle? it looks real enough, so i'm not suggesting its a hoax, but theres no wind sound, or engine sound from aircraft/helicopter... but u can hear the wave and the board just fine... 07-09-09 21:46:14 __________________________________________________
HeartofGOLD2007 ::: Favorites OMG!!! Look at the size of that wave!!! That guy is so gutsy! 07-09-09 16:25:39 __________________________________________________
keithleffler ::: Favorites The camera angle for the first 0:35 makes it look bigger, before the wave breaks. I'm guessing the break is 30' or 40'. Tow-in surfing with a jetski is done off the Oregon coast and other places occasionally. And the waves really are that big. 07-09-09 14:56:39 __________________________________________________ |
